Bobby Cato has been involved in the Washington, D.C. real estate market for more than 15 years, through his personal real estate purchases and investments. In this fast-growing region with increased real estate buyers and sellers, it’s tough to find agents who truly know and understand the area. As a native Washingtonian, Cato not only is extremely familiar with all four quadrants of the District, but much of the surrounding region. Born in Washington, D.C., raised in Prince George’s County, with personal and professional experiences in other Maryland counties and in Virginia, Cato has a wealth of knowledge of the history of local neighborhoods, where they’ve been, how they’ve evolved over the decades, and where they’re headed.
In addition to his deep roots in the region, Cato brings impressive business acumen to all of his professional endeavors, listening closely to and creatively working with colleagues and clients to identify and finalize the right solutions that address their specific goals and objectives.
Cato works with clients interested in all types of real estate investment opportunities, and specializes in providing green market education, by informing clients about energy savings and environmental decisions related to property sales. He developed his environmental knowledge while working at the National Environmental Education Association. There, Cato successfully launched public-private partnership outreach initiatives targeted at teachers and students across the U.S. aimed at increasing their environmental awareness.
Cato is energetic, creative, innovative, and always passionate about getting the job done. He’s known among friends, family and colleagues as “the facilitator,” because of his ability to connect the right people to ensure a successful business transaction.
As a former educator, Cato’s communication style makes it easy for first time homebuyers to understand the (sometimes complicated) real estate landscape and process; and more seasoned buyers and sellers understand where the industry and market are today.
Cato is also very involved in the arts and education community of Washington, D.C. once serving as a member of the Duke Ellington School of the Arts Fundraiser Benefit Committee, and over the years, has raised funds to support various arts and education initiatives throughout D.C. He is the co-founder of the D.C. based event management and marketing firm Adrinkwithfriends, LLC.
Cato earned a Master of Science in Administration and Policy Development from Trinity University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
